Cat Cay Island is self contained and generates its own power through a combination of Solar Photovoltaics (PV) and diesel generation and produces 100% of its water through reverse osmosis to supply the Island’s daily utility needs.

Our power plant consists of a 1.2MW solar field and three diesel generators that supply all of the island’s electrical needs. During many of the sunny days, our solar field can carry the island peak power demand with the generator standing by to supply additional power as needed, saving a significant quantity of diesel fuel. Cat Cay’s water makers can produce up to 60,000 gallons of fresh water per day.
