Bahamas Customs and Immigration officers are on duty from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM seven days a week on the island. However, overtime charges may apply on Saturday, Sunday and Bahamian holidays and weekdays prior to and after normal hours of operation. Effective January 2007, all U.S. and Canadian citizens arriving and departing by air are required to have a valid passport for entry into the Bahamas and the United States. Non-U.S. and non-Canadian citizens must have documents as required for international travel, i.e. valid passport with valid Visa, alien registration card. An import permit is required for all pets. By Yacht Cat Cay is 50 nautical miles from Miami, 60 from Fort Lauderdale and 90 miles from West Palm Beach. The marina is on the Eastern, or Bahama Bank, side of the island and is accessible from the Florida Straits via Gun Cay cut. Marina reservations may be made through the Cat Cay office on the island. Non-member yachtsmen are limited to a stay of 24 hours. Cat Cay has an 108 -slip marina and has berthed some of the largest yachts in the U.S. registry. We have 50 and 100 amp outlets available. All slips have metered water and electricity. The dockage rate is $3.25 per foot for guests and transients; $4.50 per foot on major holidays, less for members and dock owners.
